SIGNIFICANCE OF OUR EMBLEM
Chinmaya Vidyalaya has for its emblem the "Lamp" and the "Hamsa" bird.
The lamp represents the Scriptures. The Hamsa bird represents the discriminative power of the human intellect.
Vedic tradition describes the hamsa (swan) as a bird that drinks milk alone from a solution of milk and water. Likewise, the human intellect, with its discriminative power, must be able to discriminate between Spirit and matter and must come to enjoy the spiritual essence in the world of names and forms.
Thus, the emblem indicates that the function of the Vidyalaya is to help students in developing ethical values and cultivating in them a discriminative intellect.

Keep Smiling
Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda blessed the Chinmaya Vidyalayas with the motto "Keep Smiling". Inner equipoise expresses as a smile outside. The Chinmaya Vidyalaya prepares children with an inner equipoise to enable them to face life with a smile. Chinmaya family greets everyone with the Hari Om coupled with the namaste and the smile.
